Green Peppers and Handcuffs

First of all before rumors get started let me clarify that I didn't get handcuffed for stealing green peppers.

So anyway, after class today I dashed over to Cost Cutters for some green peppers but instead of going to CC I happened to see a nearby smaller grocery store and decided to try it out instead. It was one of those small ethnic run type places so I spent a few minutes looking around and ended finding much more than green peppers that I needed. You know the staples sorts of things like coconut milk, stir fry noodles, eggplant, bokchoy, soy milk, etc.! Yes some of us do eat that sort of thing on a regular basis.
Anyway, I was alone in the store except for the young male clerk (can you see where this is going??) until he was just about finished ringing up my purchases when three average looking people came in. He said hi to them and one of the woman said hi and called him by name. He sort of watched them as he finished with me. As I gathered up my things they approached the counter and asked him if there was a manager present. One of the asked him if he remembered her and said something else that I didn't hear as I left the store. I assumed that she was a disgruntled customer or someone who wanted to place a special order and didn't think anything of it.
As I was going to my truck I noticed a couple of ladies going to their car and as I was getting into my truck I noticed them again this time because they were pulling out with a bottle of laundry soap on the top of their car. I quick started my car and set off across the parking lot to head them off before they pulled out onto the road. Caught them, we had a good laugh and then because of the way I was going in the parking lot I figured the easiest way to get out again was to drive back down the way that took me back in front of the store I had just left. As I passed the store I realized that those were not customers that had just gone into the store because the clerk was now outside the store with his back to the street and handcuffed! I don't know if he had a personal issue with the law, if he was an illegal or if there was something wrong with the store but it felt a little weird. If I had gone into the stores just a few min. later I would have probably known what was going on. As it is now I am left wondering did I just buy my eggplant from an at large felon????

Happy April

The month of April is said to derive its name from the Latin verb aperio, which means to open, because all the buds and blossoms are now opening, and we have arrived at the gates of the flowery season. Reader, if you are not yet saved, may your heart, in keeping with the universal awakening of nature, be opened to receive the Lord. Every blossoming flower warns you that it is time to seek the Lord; do not be out of tune with nature, but let your heart bud and bloom with holy desires.

I got this from an email devotional I get from Truth for Life and I thought it was very nice.
