Why did she do it?

Please read and answer the following question with your best reasoning. This is a question that is used in real psychological tests. After people answer I will tell what the answers mean.

A woman goes to her mother's funeral and sees the man of her dreams there. She has never seen him before and no one at the funeral knows who he is or why he is there. She doesn't know anything about him or how to contact him but she knows that he is the man of her dreams.
A week later she kills her sister.
Why?

Maybe the sister was dating the man of her dreams, so in order to have him to herself she had to kill her sister. How awful! I hope that isn't the real answer.

Kimi I think you missed the line about the fact that no one knew who he was or why he was there or how to contact him later.
Your answer was close to my first answer which was that she and her sister were twins and she wanted to remove all possibility that her sister could get him. But alas that isn't the answer that the testers are looking for when they give the test!

What a morbid thought! ok, I say she killed her because she had split personality and was insane. :)

We all have men in our dreams, do we not? But this cannot be the man of her dreams b/c she had "never seen him," even in her dreams.
She links funerals w/him, and kills her sister so that she can see this mysterious man for the 2nd time.

Sorry to say this. But Cello has a very good possible answer.

Perhaps there is no connection between the sighting of the man of her dreams and the killing of her sister. There isn't alot of info given regarding the incident. i.e. self-defence vs. murder, the strength of the relationship between the sisters, etc. and on, and on.

Maybe she hated her mother and her sister looked just like their mother and she didn't want to see anything that reminded her of her mother anymore.

Do you actually have the solution to the mystery?

So yes I do know the answer to this mystery...here it is:

Everyone beware - Erin thinks like a Serial Killer! This a test question that is given in mental tests and most average people will come up with many creative answers but without fail and quickly serial killers will say, "Since he was at her mothers funeral hopefully he will show up at the sister's funeral."

Actually I have a theory that it more has to do with abstract/linear intelligence rather than criminal intent. But as I say this is just a theory and I have to do more research before I can prove it!

Erin, Take heart my mother answered this before I was even I finished telling it to her and a few of my more linear thinking collegues at work got it quickly as well. I think you are in good company!
