One Red Paper Clip

Well he did it! That guy who started out with one giant red paper clip in one year of trading has traded for a house in Kipling Sask., Canada. What an interesting journey that paper clip took him on. I am not that creative and wouldn't have ever thought of doing such a thing. You can read about the things he traded for on his blog if you are curious. Would you have done this sort of thing? Would you have traded the stuff or been tempted to keep it somewhere along the way?

Wow, that's pretty amazing! Our Church youth group did it once as an activity; one group snagged a husky puppy.

Hey that's interesting! What did they trade for the puppy? Did they keep him (or her) or did they give him away again?

Hmmm, the details are sketchy. It happened before I entered, but I think it was traded off :) BTW, you've got me curious now... Where do you work?

Ruth,
sorry I haven't answered your question till now. I currently am a live-in nanny for a teenage girl, have been for the last 7 years, and also work as a nursing assistant at a nursing home. I have done a huge variety of things in the past from teaching to housecleaning to catering to farmwork to social work but the nannying and the NA work are my current assisignments in life. I am also going to school, a class or two at a time with the plan of returning to school to get a medical degree. I already have a BA in Human Services and so now its time to combine that with medicine. To do that I have to take a few more science classes and that is what I am working on now. I worked in an office setting for a little over 4 years for a social service agency until their budget got cut and they had to lay me off but I was already also working at the nursing home so I just stayed on there, upped my hours a bit and went back to school this spring. I LOVE the nursing home and hope to move into a social work position there sometime soon but we'll see how it goes. Otherwise I am content to stay out on the floor though I wish it paid a bit better!

Wow, quite the story! And you say you wish you worked at a small engines shop... :P Sounds most exciting!
